Moosie's Page

Baca's Artemis Kennelwood was our first bullmastiff.  What a treasure she was.  "The Moose" was a heavy duty female that weighed about 135 pounds and stood at 25 inches in height.  She had tremendous width that could have made many a male jealous.  Her disposition was wonderful, but she was a real couch potato.  She didn't believe in moving fast unless she was chasing something interesting like a chicken.  Even when she barked she barked slow.  It was like the bark was
coming from her toes and you heard the rumble, but knew it would take awahile for it to get out.
Although Moosie hated to show--too much work, she did distinguish herself at two nationals.  She won her class at 15 months and again won a fourth at two years.  She had 10 puppies in one litter and then decided that was all there was going to be.  Noone could have asked for a better first bullmastiff and she started our kennel off on the right paw so to speak.  The following is a picture of her winning at the National in 1988.
